Mehul Sagar

Head of Safety, Apex.AI

Mehul joined Apex.AI as head of safety in may, 2019. and is primarily responsible to develop a strategy for ISO2 6262 certification of the OS framework that APEX is building for the automotive market. He also formed a team to deliver the certification (TuV-Nord) within a very aggressive schedule. Before that, Mehul had a long and productive career at Intel spanning ~20 years. Towards the end of his Intel career, Mehul was focused on Functional Safety working as a technical lead to deliver ISO26262 compliance for SW/HW tools at Intel. During his tenure at Intel, he worked on most aspects of silicon engineering including DFx, validation, test, silicon debug, debugging customer returns, closing test holes and marginality (p/f/v) screening. Mehul is also an expert in X86 assembly fundamentals and programming and taught a class on the subject for many years. He has architect-ed and coded several test generation tools used by Intel for defect screening and identifying parts of higher specs. Mehul in the past lead the innovation, development and standardization of (24x fast) simulation-free test vector generation flow used by many HVM products. This methodology was a paradigm shift for functional test vector engineering and won several corporate-wide awards. On the people front, Mehul has leadership skills in hiring, building and coaching high-performance teams to deliver breakthrough technologies. He has 7+ years of experience as People Manager and built teams from the ground up (twice) during this time (spread across multiple geos).
